Use Familiar Organizational Techniques
For memorability, group, arrange, and relate material by identifying the
main ideas clearly, and then organizing the supporting material using familiar
techniques such as outlines, chronologies, tables, diagrams, etc. Locally, the
organization of sentences and paragraphs should meet reader "expectations" for the placement of subjects, verbs, stress sentences, etc. For longer and more complicated presentations, organize around a small number of unifying principles, returning to them through a variety of different organizational techniques. Organization around historical threads has consistently been shown to produce memorable mental structures for learners.
