This is one of the most effective ways to move newly learned skills and ideas into long-term memory. Without examples, new skills and ideas are quickly forgotten. Ideally, examples should be presented in a variety of different contexts and with many different "representations" of the ideas. In keeping with other principles, the unifying threads of a presentation should be introduced, and then elaborated, through the use of examples. As always, the examples should provide as many opportunities as possible for the learner to interact, practice, and synthesize.
